Installing on Classic Cars / Jeeps (General Guide):

FITMENT INFORMATION:

TROUBLESHOOTING / COMMON COMPLAINTS:

  • All PN#'s General

  • Low-Beams Flickering

    • Check to ensure the Jeep is not equipped with DRL (Daytime Running Lights) - If in Canada this is present by default due to local road regulations.

    • Automatic Transmission - Low Beams turn on automatically during the day when in drive (Low Beams will Flicker here)

    • Manual Transmission - Low Beams turn on automatically during the day when Parking Brake is disengaged (Low Beams will Flicker here)

    • IF DRL are present - This is a normal occurrence for Jeeps equipped with DRL (Daytime Running Lights) which operate on the Low Beam Circuit at approx 6v, which will cause LEDs to strobe or flicker. The only solution to this is to have the DRL disabled either at your local dealer or with an aftermarket programmer.

    • IF DRL are not present - The Jeep Wrangler H13 headlight harness has a small locking tab inside that is very brittle and is easily broken if care is not taken when installing/uninstalling your bulbs. If the headlights flicker & the connector appears to be loose or can be pulled apart with the red locking tab pushed in, then the factory headlight plug may be damaged. It is not an uncommon issue for the JK to have connector issues like this. You can read more about how to diagnose and correct this here: https://support.kchilites.com/hc/en-us/articles/216969438-Jeep-LED-Headlight-Connection-Troubleshooting

    • Halo Not Powering On - Ensure DRL cables is plugged in correctly on both sides (Arrow to Arrow) / Ensure Add-A-Fuse connector is properly crimped to the wire end of the DRL harness, plugged into the correct fuse position, & both fuse slots are occupied / Ensure DRL Harness is grounded properly

  • ColorSHIFT (5876-334)

    • 1 or More Section Miss-Colored - Ensure all RGB cables are plugged in properly (Arrow to Arrow) / Check for pinched or damaged RGB cables between controller & headlight / Ensure wires are not crossed at controller

    • Demon Eye Shining on Ground / Bumper - This is due to the LED positioning behind the optic & is normal and not a defect

Switchback (5876-023)

  • Halo not Powering On / Flickering - Ensure Included Y-Adapters are plugged in correctly between Halo Plug, Jeep Harness, & Jeep Bulb Socket Adapter

  • White Halo not Powering on Automatically - The halo is plug & play with the factory Park Light / Turn Signal Bulb Harness. There is no Auto function at that bulb, therefore, it's not possible to make the white halo automatic

  • Turn Signal Out Error / Hyperflash - Ensure Included Y-Adapters are plugged in correctly between Halo Plug, Jeep Harness, & Jeep Bulb Socket Adapter / If Park Light - Turn Signal Bulbs in the Grill have been changed to LED - Ensure they are error free or resistors are also installed / If Park Light - Turn Signal Bulb has been deleted - Ensure proper resistance has been added to avoid error (This is not a service we offer nor do we offer products related to this modification -Do not try to troubleshoot this)

  • NOTE - If you want your factory turn signals AND the Halos to work together the included Y-Adapters must be installed. If you ONLY want the Amber Turn Signal to work, these are not needed. However, the halo will hyper flash (rapid flash or bulb out warning). To prevent this, a Load Equalizer will be needed for each headlight. Diagram:
