Wheel RingsUpdated 6 months ago

LENGTH OF WARRANTY:

1 Year Warranty

IMPORTANT PRODUCT INFORMATION:

  • Show-Use Only: Please note that wheel rings are intended for show-use only and should not be used on-road.

  • Cable Length: The leads on the wheel rings are 13.5 feet long, providing you with ample flexibility during installation.

  • Apps: Different wheel rings require specific apps for control:

    • For Regular ColorSHIFT wheel rings, use the ORACLE ColorSHIFT app.

    • For Dynamic ColorSHIFT wheel rings, you'll need the Magic LED app.

  • Size and Availability: Wheel rings of 18 inches or smaller are available exclusively in ColorSHIFT. Double-row ColorSHIFT and Dynamic ColorSHIFT are not available.

  • Product Batch Information: For product codes 4228-001, the first batch from the supplier started shipping on 1/29/2020. If you purchased these wheel rings before this date, you have the older version. Please be aware that replacement wheel rings may not perfectly match in color.

  • Dynamic Wheel Rings (4215-332):

    • If you have the older white controller, it is no longer available.

    • The black controller will work with updated black rings.

    • For customers with older style rings (purchased before 7/28/2020 with silver rings), they will need to hardwire to the controller. Here's how:

      • Cut the connector plug off the new style Dynamic Ring.

      • Cut the plug off the corresponding output coming out of the controller.

      • Hardwire it by matching the color wires from the Wheel Ring side to those coming out of the output on the controller.

      Product Information:

      • Silver Ring Style: Please note that the silver ring style is no longer being manufactured.

      • LED Replacement for S4215-332: If your LEDs are not working, please ask for a photo and we will issue a replacement LED strip (S4215-332). The customer is responsible for the shipping cost.

      • Black Coated Ring Style: If the LEDs are not functioning, we will provide the customer with an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) and RL (Return Label) so that the lights can be sent back for testing.

      • Controller Types:

        • Black controller: Waterproof and can be mounted in a central location under the vehicle's cab.

        • White controller: Not waterproof and should be mounted inside the vehicle's cabin.

      • Dynamic Wheel Ring Cable Extension: The cables for Dynamic wheel rings cannot be extended. It's recommended to mount the waterproof controller in a central position under the vehicle. Larger trucks or SUVs may require extending the red power cable to reach the battery from this position.

      • Strobing Rings Issue: If you report that your rings are strobing with all four plugged in but work fine when one or more are unplugged, it's likely due to using extensions or manually extending the cables. This can cause these issues as the cables are not designed to be extended.

      • 4215-334 Aqua Kit: For this kit, we issue a replacement using part number 4215-010INT. This will automatically commit x.25. When you initially purchased the full Aqua kit, the set of four rings is set up to create a Work Order because our technicians make a very small modification to the wiring hub. This modification ensures that the product turns on as an Aqua kit and not an RGB kit. If you had the Aqua kit initially, you should not need a 2-pin or 4-pin extension. The replacement ring should be plug-and-play with your original wiring hub. If you did not have an Aqua kit initially, you will need to modify the hub.

      • 4211 3rd Brake Light: Only the red color can be used as a 3rd brake light. ColorSHIFT can be tied into the existing wheel ring wiring for power.

FITMENT INFORMATION:

INSTALL TIP:  When our technicians install Wheel Rings in house, they use a wire loom to tuck the wires into the protective sheath. From there, they zip tie them up as tight as they can and leave the excess wiring in the engine department. Most of the time, they zip tie around the Wheel Speed Sensors. The key is to make sure that enough wire slack is left to ensure that there is enough length to allow the wires to turn with the tires, anything more than this can cause pinching or rubbing which can lead to the rings "catching fire"

TROUBLESHOOTING:

Wheel Ring Falling Off/Broken:

Issue: If your wheel ring is falling off or broken.

Explanation: Typically, this issue arises when the self-tapping screws are not adequately tightened during installation, causing the ring to become loose. It's considered an installation error and isn't covered under warranty.

Solution: If you'd like to purchase a replacement wheel ring, please let us know, and we can provide you with a quote.

Wheel Rings Strobing:

Issue: If your wheel rings are strobing.

Solution: Check to make sure that no extensions are installed, particularly for Dynamic rings. Extensions can cause strobing.

Resolution: If extensions are not installed and you have a Silver Ring, we can send you a replacement strip (S4215-332). If you have a Black Ring, we can issue an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) and provide a return label for testing.

Dynamic Wheel Rings Defaulting to White/Other Color:

Issue: If your Dynamic wheel rings default to white or another color and won't change via the Magic LED app.

Solution: Check the protocol and ensure the setting is configured as BRG-SM16703.

Possible Issue: If one or more rings are still having problems, it might indicate a failure mode, particularly if the first three LEDs are out. This issue is caused by cables not being correctly plugged in, leading to the first IC in the chain burning out.

Notice: We have added a warning about this specific issue to each product box and our website to ensure awareness.

If this problem occurs please issue RMA for these to come back. We need to track and determine this first. You can offer advanced warranty, but please let the customer know if we find this issue was caused because of the keyslots, no refund will be given.

Assistance Locating a Bad Ring:

Issue: If you need help finding a problematic ring.

Solution: Connect all the rings, then unplug one at a time and check the remaining three for normal function. Plug the ring back in and repeat this process until you locate the ring causing the issue.

Wheel Ring Wires Melted:

Explanation: Unfortunately, this issue is not covered under warranty. It typically occurs when the cable gets caught on something metal under the vehicle, leading to a short circuit. This is considered an installation error.

Upgrading from Silver Rings to Black Metal Rings:

Eligibility: This information is only relevant for customers with 1st generation (silver metal) Dynamic wheel rings who are buying a 2nd generation (black metal) replacement wheel ring.

Solution: To upgrade, cut the connector plug off the new style Dynamic ring, cut the plug off the corresponding output coming out of the Dynamic controller, and hardwire it. Match the color wires from the wheel ring side to those coming out of the output on the controller.

If Wheel Ring is "too tight" and is fitting tight on the caliper:

The Wheel Rings may fit tight. Have the customer to send a photo to review with Brittany or JP
